New project interview published - Calderdale Royal Hospital
PPP Forum 

A transcript of an interview by the PPP Forum undertaken with Dr Andy Lockey, Clinical Director in Emergency Medicine for the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. Operational in April 2001, the Calderdale Royal Hospital is a modern centre of excellence and provides significantly improved accommodation compared with the Victorian buildings which previously housed many of the healthcare services. The hospital offers a full range of day case and outpatient services and an accident and emergency department. It is also the specialist centre for planned orthopaedic and general surgery for the residents of Calderdale, Kirklees and further afield.

New project published in the Photo Gallery Section - Marsh Hill Primary School
PPP Forum

The £50 million Birmingham Schools 1 PFI project involves 11 schools and comprises new build and refurbishment of nursery, infant, junior, secondary and special needs facilities. Marsh Hill, one of the new builds, used to be housed in a 1930s building where half of the children were in  deteriorating, "temporary" accommodation which had been used for about 30 years. The school is now in completely new buildings. 

"Children, parents and staff walk in here and say ‘Wow, what a fantastic building'...We don't have any difficulty recruiting staff and the staff who are here love the environment." Cate Ball (Headteacher).
