The £320 million South Lanarkshire Schools PFI Project involves the new build of 17 schools and the refurbishment of two others.
The new St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School, one of the new builds, is a co-educational Roman Catholic secondary school in East Kilbride and has approximately 1,600 pupils. It was formed from the merger of St Andrew’s and St Bride’s.
The new school opened its doors to pupils in August 2007 and provides excellent facilities in a purpose built, state-of-the art learning environment designed as a single unit. It compares to the old facilities which were in need of renewal due to general wear and tear of the buildings. |
