The £320 million South Lanarkshire Schools PFI Project involves the new build of 17 schools and the refurbishment of 2 others.
Holy Cross School, one of the new builds, is a co-educational secondary school in Hamilton and has approximately 1,200 pupils.
The new school opened its doors to pupils in 2007 and includes two gyms, a games hall, two outdoor pitches, one of them a floodlit all-weather surface, together with state-of-the-art music and drama facilities. The school was officially opened in November 2008 when MSP Margaret Mitchell said “No-one could fail to be impressed with this superb new building and the positive welcoming atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the pupils, teachers and staff..”
