The £320 million South Lanarkshire Schools PFI Project involves the new build of 17 schools and the refurbishment of two others.
The new Duncanrig Secondary School, one of the new builds, is a co-educational secondary school in the Westwood area of East Kilbride and has approximately 1,700 pupils. It was formed from the merger of Ballerup High School and the old Duncanrig Secondary School.
The new school opened its doors to pupils in August 2007 and provides excellent facilities in a purpose built, state-of-the art learning environment designed as a single unit. It compares to the old facilities where, inconveniently, pupils had to travel between buildings for different classes.
