The £320 million South Lanarkshire Schools PFI Project involves the new build of 17 schools and the refurbishment of 2 others.

Calderglen High School shares its campus with Sanderson High School, a special education needs school catering for pupils with a wide range of additional support needs. Both schools are new builds and provide state-of-the-art learning and teaching facilities. Calderglen was established following the merger of Hunter High School and Claremont High School which were in need of renewal due to general wear and tear of the buildings.
