The £81 million Scottish Borders Schools PFI project involves the new build of 3 high schools.
The new Berwickshire High School, which opened its doors to pupils in February 2009 has excellent facilities including a floodlit synthetic football pitch, a good sized gymnasium and fitness room as well as attractive open plan areas for eating and socialising. The school was designed with the environment in mind and incorporates a biomass boiler powered by woodchip from the local area.
